Atlanta, GA – Merchants Metals recently announced that the Slidell (New Orleans) service center has now been moved to a spacious new location. The new property features 12,500 square feet of office and warehouse space and 3 acres of yard space. “The new warehouse and yard space will allow us to stock a full line of fence products including ornamental steel and aluminum and give us more space for our ever-growing wood and chain-link inventory,” stated Ross Becnel, Slidell Service Center Manager.
“In addition to increasing the square footage and yard space, the new service center is ideally positioned in the Gulf Coast corridor to allow us to service customers from Lake Charles, LA to Panama City Beach, FL,” added Becnel. “The previous location had become very outdated and as we have seen tremendous sales growth in the market, we simply outgrew the space. Our sales territory includes all of Louisiana, and the Gulf Coast regions of Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
“Ross and his team have done a great job developing this market and this new location will only allow them to grow the business and better service our customers throughout the region,” said Russ Lamm, District Manager.

In addition to Ross Becnel, who has 13 years of sales and distribution experience, the Slidell service center team includes Dennis Hoover, sales; Adrienne Stallings, sales/admin; Billy Buitt, yard foreman; Billy Pittman, driver; and Marquis Watson, driver. The Slidell sales team is a very experienced group with 65 years of combined fence sales history.
